Bobolinks complete one of the longest migrations of any songbird. They breed across the northern half of the USA and parts of Canada. During the fall, the birds travel across the Gulf of Mexico down to South America, a journey of over 12,500 miles round trip! They nest on the ground in fields. We are lucky to have a few of these fields in Middlesex County CT. Today they were bringing in all sorts of bugs for their chicks. The Male is Black & White, the female is a buff color. 6/22/24
