A trip through Washington CT is classic New England. Red boat house on lake Waramaug, Churches in snow and barren trees, An Ice fisherman warms up as a gull looks on and a pair of Hooded Mergansers on of the few unfrozen sections of the lake. 1/23/26

Merlin is a small fierce falcon. This one particularly looks the part since she is perched on the normal spot of a mated pair of eagles. They were not in the area and she was only there for a minute, Southbury CT 1/23/26

Native Americans revere the Red-tailed hawk as an embodiment of divine power and serving as a guide and protector. Works for me. Southbury CT 1/15/26

Another mated pair of eagles. These are in New Haven County. Even with the branches in the way they still are majestic. During the photo shoot I get photo-bombed by a Juvenile Coopers hawk. 1/13/26
