Florida sunset. The sky was on fire!

The burrowing Owl is the only Owl that nests in underground burrows (thus its name) The largest population of these owls in North America is in Cape Coral FL where these pictures were taken. The last image has two in one frame. 1/24

The CT Housatonic River was teeming with little silver fish. A feeding frenzy for the gulls and eagles. Since they were small snack size the eagles would hunt eat, hunt eat and do it again. Availing me of plenty of photo opps

I happen upon this Red Shoulder Hawk as the golden hour begins. She pounced from her perch, mantled her prey but alas was unsuccessful and flew off to hunt some more. Southbury CT 1/5/24
